It looks like it's sort of official: Toyota will sell the micro iQ as a Scion in the U.S. Well, at least they're bringing a Scion-badged iQ to the New York Autoshow, which is a pretty darn good indicator.
Left Lane News nabbed a couple of
photos of Scion's iQ through the doors of a car carrier. Hey—good enough for me.
The iQ is supposed to get nearly 60mpg, be powered by a 1.3-liter engine, and sell in the $15,000 range. If I'm Smart USA, I'm beginning to get nervous.

I hope it is an unmolested, not watered down, overly Americanized,or otherwise tampered with version of the IQ.I'm glad that Scion is coming up here in early 2010.In Canada,in the major cities like Toronto,Montreal, and Vancouver most people are committed compact, subcompact, and micro car buyers,so I don't see why the IQ couldn't be reasonably successful here.I like the Smart but once the IQ comes along it will really have something to worry about.
Well, I don't know what they're really water down on this vehicle; it's pretty basic. If anything, I bet they'll add some specific features to appeal to the North American buying public. Then again, I could be totally wrong.
