Toyota C-HR Gets Rally Car Look
Holy smokes, I think I love this.
This is a Toyota C-HR hybrid crossover gussied up with a host of rally-esque bits. This includes those sweet, sweet TRD mudflaps, 16" wheels and tires, and revised suspension. This rallied-out C-HR debuted at last weekend's Tokyo Auto Salon.
Anyhow, the C-HR (Coupe High-Rider) will come to the U.S., but it'll be powered by a 144 horsepower, 2.0-liter engine, be front-wheel drive, and mated to a CVT. While those aren't exactly pulse-quickening specs, I do think it looks quite radical, and downright mean as a rally car.
And is it just me or were the TRD C-HR and the cab from Judge Dredd separated at birth?
And for comparison's sake, here's what the stock C-HR looks like.

Dammit, Toyota! You lost me at CVT.....
Real car or plastic toy? Looks like the latter.
Generally I don't like the freaky looks of today's cars with all the creases and fussy details. But it works on this car, I like it.
@ Stephen Baker; they lost me at those massive C-pillars and what looks like terrible rear visibility. Well, they didn't completely *lose* me - a Corolla iM with 6MT is still on the short list, but not this...

How depressing. That car went from being pretty weird and bad-ass to being a big disappointment. A car that looks that cool shouldn't be so under powered. I felt the same way about the CR-Z.
