I've always been a fan of the 1979–1993 Volkswagen Cabriolet. There aren't a whole lot of cars that remain relatively unchanged for 14 years, but this is one of them. OK, there were some changes, but the Cabriolet skipped the MK2 bodystyle, which debuted in 1985, and went until the Cabrio (MK3 bodystyle) appeared in 1993. Horsepower peaked at 94, with 100 ft./lbs. or torque.Often heralded as a "chick car," I think the Cabriolets can be made to look pretty sweet as evidenced by the model above. This was back when VW was king before they let their build quality slip.
It really was only ever the triple white ones that were hand-in-your-Man-Cards chickmobiles.
Even stone stock, an early model in a funky late-70s color combo or a late one in slate blue with gray interior and the 15" telephone-dial steelies...yum..
