Tricked-out tall wagons

Tricked-out tall wagons - Subcompact CultureIf you've followed this blog for any time, you'll know I have a slight obsession with the Mitsubishi Expo LRV/Eagle Summit Wagon/Plymouth Colt Vista, and I owned a '92 Expo LRV. Turns out some people are indeed tricking them out. Case in point, these two vehicles above, ironically located in Portland (where I live); I happened to run a cross them on Team-2G.com.

There aren't a lot of suspension goodies for these cars (that I know of), but I did run across a guy who fitted EVO 9 bits to his tall Mitsu wagon. Regardless, I'm diggin' the duo above. A few more photos here.

Someday, I'll get another Expo LRV an would love to swap the 4G63T into it.

I think the Tall B-Seg wagon is on a comeback, but with a higher belt line to meet modern safety regulations. Cross Polo, SX4, Fit, Colt, Crossman, Yaris 5 Door I think are the modern day equivalents.

Beleive it or not, one of the first cars I liked when I was a kid was the Old School Civic Wagon back in the days when it was a B-Seg with the D-engine Honda rode to the bank with from 1984-2005. It even had AWD too. It was produced from 1984-1991.

That was the car that made me a fan of subcompacts.

Note: the new K engine the Civic now uses is a complicated piece of machinery where you have to take the engine out to service spark plugs. Like an "Old GM" Cavilier this thing is.

Yeah, Honda has lost it.
