What's your subcompact snow story?
Many parts of the U.S. are getting some serious winter weather. Here in Portland, OR we've had anywhere from 6-12 inches of snow and as much as a 1/2 inch of ice, and there's more on the way.
My Yaris is parked—and it's been parked for more than a week. Luckily, I was able to snag some studded snow tires for our 1998 Honda Civic from Craigslist at the last minute. Granted, the Civic is not a subcompact, but not too far from it. We've been able to get around when needed, and in an emergency situation, we'd have a heck of a better chance getting somewhere.
Do you have a wintry car story from this week? If so, share in the comments section!

No stories, but my 08 Yaris is handling the snow much better than I thought it would. It's pretty cold in Chicago's north suburbs. The Yaris was slow starting today even though it was parked in the garage.
Good to hear. Do you have snow tires or the all-season tires?
Stock tires with about 16K on them. I added keyless entry over Thanksgiving weekend, which has turned out to be very nice.
My rental g37x is handling the snow just fine here in the chicago area as well, also not a subcompact but still fun enough!
A G37X would be a great AWD rental car--especially in the snow!
15k on the stock all-seasons on my '08 Yaris, doing fine so far including busting out of a plowed-in parking space more than once so far.
One of my coworkers has snows on his and has nothing but good things to say about the results. I probably would've gottten some by now if it weren't for the added cost of extra TPMS sensors.
