Small car saves life

Yaris Crash Test - Subcompact Culture
Small cars are often still perceived as unsafe. However, with new technologies and new engineering, small cars are safer than ever. Don't believe me? Check out the story on Gas2.org about how the author's Toyota Yaris saved his life.

Do you have a story about how your small car saved your life? Post about it in the comments section.

I wonder what you think of this:
The new Fiat 500 has a 5-star rating here in Europe; the highest a car can receive.

So it's safer than most: a 10 year old Audi A6 gets 3 stars, a '07 Audi Q7 still gets only a 4-star rating.

But what happens if these cars meet?

Mind you, I own a Fiat barchetta (a small 'Ferrari', to stay on topic) myself so I'm not saying the small Fiat 500 is unsafe. It's just that those SUV's are nasty!

By the way - I've seen the 500 and it's an incredibly good looking car!

I love the Fiat 500. It's another one of those vehicles that I wish would come to the U.S.

That's a pretty insane crash video, though. I'd love to know what some of that crash data concluded. It looks like the driver dummy would've sustained a fair bit of whiplash, but I'd be more interested in how the footwell held up.

Do you know what speed that cash was performed at?
