Question: What's the Biggest Item You've Carried in (or on) Your Small Car?

What's the largest object you've put in or on your small car?
Our old propane grill had bitten the dust, so it was time for a new one. We found the grill we wanted, and were going to pick it up after our off-road trip. We figured we'd come home, drop off the "Teal Terror" (pictured above), and pick up our Subaru WRX, which has more room inside. Well, on a whim we decided to see if we could get the grill on the Sidekick's roof rack. Wouldn't you know it, the grill fit in the BajaRack roof basket. Granted, it took four of us to get it up there. We tied it down, took the side streets home, and unloaded it. Granted, it took three of us to get it down. Nonetheless, it was small car success!

What's the biggest thing you've carried in (or on) your subcompact vehicle?

Medium-sized grocery cart in the back of a Toyota Yaris, back when work paid a bounty for every stray cart returned.

I brought a window air conditioner home from the store on the front passenger seat of my old Tercel when it wouldn't fit anywhere else , it was at that point I decided my next car would be a hatchback!

I brought one of those mini fridge/freezer deals home in my 94 Civic coupe. It had the separate freezer compartment like a full-size refrigerator. Pushed the passenger seat all the way forward and wedged it in there. My passenger sat behind me on the driver's side lol

Queen-size futon frame and mattress on a 100 mile trip in a 1984 Mustang GT. Had to leave the rear hatch open of course. Too bad Mustangs don't have hatches anymore, they would be a lot more useful.

A dozen 10 foot 2x12's and the friend who helped me load them in my Civic hatchback. Twice, since there were two loads. And then more lumber than that in random lengths and sizes that got chopped into firewood. The back end was really, really low for all those trips. Who needs a pickup truck when you have a hatchback?

Two mountain bikes, large tent, toolbox, cooler, camp stove, two large sleeping bags, 5 gallon water jug, my passenger and me all INSIDE my Ford Festiva.... with the hatch closed!
