2012 Chevrolet Aveo photos

Here are photos of the 2012 Chevrolet Aveo sedan. Well, it looks pretty darn good. A few thoughts:

• Will the production version really sit that low? (Note the absence of hugongus fender gap)
• When can we expect the turbocharged RS to bow?
• This look almost too nice to be called "Aveo." How much will people be willing to pay for an optioned-out new Aveo? (Perhaps a name change should've been in order?)
• Will this Aveo be a true competitor in the b-segment? (Rumor has it the car will still be on a Daewoo platform)

Best looking B-segment sedan yet. In fact, it looks better than the Cruze, which already has its' work cut out for it.

Yeah, nice way of copy off Hyundai Fluidic sculpture off of Hyundai, and do it for Cheaper.

Too bad when the Accent comes out the haters will cry about how it copied Aveo, when Hyundai came out with the idea of the design first.

Its a cheaper design than Hyundais Nex Gen Accent, yet of course Hyundai will get accused to copying again, watch.

The Door handle rake is what Im speaking of.

You American smallcar lovers need to be thankful of Hyundai, as Hyundai steps up its game and goes upmarket Daweoo is going to copy off of them.

By the way Buick will get one too, it will be caled Viva.

Its very easy for Daewoo to copy off Hyundai too, as they share testing tracks in Korea.

Like it not Hyundais gain=GMs gain. Well at least on the small car front.

It's looks quite nice, kudos to Chevy for getting the styling right. Now, I wonder about what kind of engine it will be getting, and general quality of materials and workmanship. This is an opportunity for Chevy, RS version aside, to make a serious statement in this segment. If they slap together flimsy materials, banking on horsepower and sheet metal alone to generate sales, they will fail. I also wish they would just lose "Aveo" and start fresh with a new name.

HyundaiSmoke - Can you post a link to the Fluidic sculpture? I'd like to see the design elements you're mentioning.

Well Thirty Nine, its very obvious in the spy pics of Accent, and snce Hyundai is carrying that Sonata rubric to the other cars, the side rake is borrowed.

I dont mind them borrowing it from us, we just want the credit.

Considering the fact that Accent spyshots have been around almost 6 months, I think its time for Hyundai to show it. However, Elantra will be the next US prodction product they will show then Accent.
