The 2010 North American Car of the Year is a pretty big deal. There are 15 cars in the running, including the small Kia Soul. As I stated in my Soul review, you get a lot for your money with the Soul, and I can see why it's been nominated. FYI, the complete list looks like this:
2010 Volkswagen Golf
2010 Toyota Prius
2010 Subaru Legacy
2010 Porsche Panamera
2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
2010 Mazda3
2010 Honda Insight
2010 Kia Soul
2010 Ford Taurus
2010 Ford Fusion
2010 Chevrolet Camaro
2010 Buick LaCrosse
2010 BMW 335d
2010 Suzuki Kisashi
2010 Cadillac CTS Sportwagon
If I had to hedge my bets, I'd say the Taurus will get the award. We'll see!

I'd say Taurus if they were talking about the SHO or the Fusion if it was the hybrid powertrain to keep it North American (-ish). I would hope for the BMW 335d to show that diesels are a great alternative, especially that particular one.
It's funny though that the CTS Sportwagon shows up on this one, but the Accord Crosstour on the truck list, thought they competed in the same market?
Go Soul. It was the second to last car standing on my short-list this year. The eventual winner was my Accent SE hatchback, but I literally couldn't make up my mind for about a week, after seeing both. I've only seen two Souls in my town, but there is a LOT of car there for the money, so I don't know why.
