European Production Toyota iQ

Here's the production version of the Toyota iQ, aka the Smart Car Killer. Although that remains to be seen, it will indeed compete against the Smart. It will debut at the Paris Motor Show, which runs from October 4 - 19.

I think the design is inoffensive enough. I happen to think the Smart looks a bit better. I keep thinking the iQ looks like a shoe. Also, in some angles, the iQ's rear pillar reminds me of a miniature version of the previous Mercedes M Class. Yes, that might sound crazy, but I can't help it.

It will be interesting to see how well this little guy does in the narrow streets and competitive European market. If Toyota know how to do one thing it's improve upon a segment, and I would be willing to bet that Toyota might be able to make a cheaper, more well-built, and perhaps ... a ... wait for it ... "smarter" Smart car. iQ. Get it? Smart? Hello?
